Stems:  Light green stem covered with short hairs; one to three feet in height
Leaves:  Alternate, clasping, oval to lance-like; veins in leaves parallel
Inflorescence:  Racemes, loose to moderately dense, commonly 1-sided
Flowers:  green and pinkish or purplish flowers, dull green sepals, shorter upper petals; Lower labellum, pale red and much shorter than the upper petals
Fruits / pods:  Capsules obovoid, 9–14 mm, glabrate to densely pubescent.
Flowering Period:  Jun--Oct
